Hundreds of trees were wrapped with twinkle lights for the Christmas season. This year they're even expanding to add 3rd St., Washington St., Jefferson St. and 2nd Ave.
It all began as an idea last year to hang garlands for decoration, but they decided that they wanted to do more.
They will hang garlands in the three hundred and five hundred blocks on 3rd St. all thanks to a grant from the Dudley Foundation.
Elizabeth Field, the executive director for the Wausau River District, said that store owners receive compliments for the Christmas spirit in the downtown area all throughout the season thanks to these lights, and it's definitely a sight to check out within the next couple of months.
