Hundreds of free scarves and hats were placed in downtown Wausau Friday night, thanks to the group Chase the Chill Central WIsconsin.
The group began this past January. People knitted or crocheted hats, scarves and even a few blankets.
They were left tied along fences, light posts, and benches ahead of the Holiday Parade for anyone who may want or need one.
"I think it just shows that people out there do care, whether you're homeless, you're cold, or something looks pretty. It's just putting a little smile on people's face," said Sarah Kreager, who founded this chapter of Chase the Chill.
At least 300 items were made and distributed around the area.
For anyone who's interested in helping, you can find more info on their Chase the Chill Central Wisconsin Facebook page.
