Open Streets Wausau is happening Sunday, May 21, in the city's downtown. The Executive Director of the Wausau River District, Elizabeth Brodek, and the Lead Organizer, Andrew Lynch, stopped by NewsChannel 7 at 5 Thursday to tell us all about it.
From Noon until 4 p.m., residents can bike, run, walk, roll and even skate in the middle of Third Street. That's from the Wausau Center Mall to Athletic Park and back along the river edge trail. Along the way, there are activities, food vendors and local musicians.
The event is free to open to the public.
Open Streets is an international movement.
