The owners of Basil in Weston will open a new restaurant at the former Crostini Bar on 3rd Street in Wausau.

City records show Crostini owners surrendered their liquor license after only being open several months.

A Wausau City Council subcommittee is expected to approve the liquor license transfer to the Basil owners Monday night.

Basil owner Jim Daly said crews are already remodeling the 3rd Street building. The new restaurant, Daly's, will have a full menu. Daly said he hopes to have the bar open next month and the kitchen in November.

Daly said Basil will remain open.

He said they had been looking at downtown locations for quite sometime.

Basil opened in Weston in 2009.
