In just a few days, a new nutrition bar offering smoothies and fitness camps is set to open up in downtown Wausau.

Kayla Ermeling fell in love with the idea of opening a nutrition club after seeing many in the Green Bay area where she went to school.

"We are one of the only communities that doesn't have a nutrition club, and I felt it would be great to bring it back to my hometown," said Ermeling.

'Ignite Nutrition' will feature healthy, fast food as well as fitness camps that offer weight loss challenges, coaching and more.

"I think it's going to bring a great sense of community and unity to the area; it is a great, positive environment, and it will be a great way for people to get out of work for a bit and be put in a good mood while getting a quick easy meal," explained Ermeling.

Ermeling mentioned that the choice for having smoothies in her new nutrition club, was an easy one, because she believes that smoothies are an amazing way to start out your day.

"A smoothie has 24 grams of protein, 21 essential vitamins and minerals, and they are served with aloe and tea," explained Ermeling. Aloe helps with digestion, bloating, heartburn, and that is my favorite way to start my day! The tea is amazing, and doesn't taste very much like tea, but it helps with energy and metabolism."

Ermeling promises that the club will feature different flavors of the week, as well as weekly fit camps and smoothie specials launched in October.

The fitness classes will be free with a canned good donation. Ermeling said that she wants to help others get fit, while also helping give back to the community.

'Ignite Nutrition' is set to open up the week of Sept. 11 and is located at 515 3rd St. in Wausau.
