Business Improvement District

Wausau River District, Inc. works in conjunction with downtown Wausau's Business Improvement District (BID). A BID is a defined geographic area in which property owners pay an annual special tax assessment for specific uses. In Wausau's BID, these assessments serve as Main Street Wausau's primary funding source. Businesses within the BID are automatically eligible to participate in WRD programming and services.

Our BID represents nearly 150 property owners and over 250 businesses within these boundaries:

Elm Street and Grant Street on the North

6th Street on the East

3rd Avenue on the West

Stewart Avenue and Washington Street on the South
