How, when, and why did you start your business?

We started our business in 2018 at 909 Franklin Street after purchasing the tri-plex in 2017. We restored the interior of the house and offered it on Airbnb and VRBO. We had just moved to Wausau in July of 2017 and were looking for a new business to open.

What makes your business unique?

We make our business unique with our dedication and personal attention. It is very important to us that every guest have a great experience.

What product/service is your most popular, or what are you are known for?

Our guests appreciate the cleanliness and beautiful aesthetics in our suites. We are enjoying a great reception in our recently opened wine bar with an exquisite portfolio of high end wines and spirits.

Why did you locate your business in the Wausau River District?

By sheer coincidence, honestly. There was a sign in the storefront of the building that said "apartment for rent.” With our many years experience in the hospitality industry, and with Lesli's design skills, we saw the potential to convert the space into a boutique hotel. The apartments were very rundown and abandoned, but we rolled up our sleeves and dug into the project, never abandoning it during the nearly four years of construction and restoration.

What motivates you?

We have been entrepreneurs and risk takers our entire lives, so it was an easy decision. Add to that the satisfaction of taking an old, abandoned building, still standing and strong, and bringing it back to life. That is something that we take a lot of pride in.

How do you measure/define success?

Our tenacity and dedication to each and every project we take on, the fact that we push through the most difficult situations, is how we measure our success.

How do you generate new ideas?

We are constantly looking at ways to improve. That unto itself creates new ideas.

It's just the two of us and two amazing girls who help with the cleaning of the suites.

What excites you most about the future of the district?

We are very happy to see new business coming in and helping to make Wausau a popular tourist destination. It is our hope that this will also bring new families to our community.
